District administration on 24×7 alert in view of torrential rains in Una.

Una, August 2- Life has been affected due to continuous torrential rains in Una district. According to preliminary assessment, a loss of about Rs 27 crore has been recorded so far. Along with damage to government and private properties, many development projects have also been affected.

Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal said that the district administration is active in the field with full vigilance and readiness to deal with the situation. He said that teams of all departments including PWD, Municipal Council, Jal Shakti, Electricity, Health are deployed in the field. Work is going on on a war footing to smoothen the roads, remove waterlogging and debris and provide immediate assistance to the affected people.
The Deputy Commissioner today visited various affected areas and took stock of the damage and issued necessary guidelines on the spot. During this, SDM Una Vishwa Mohan Dev Chauhan was also with him.
Jatin Lal said that the district administration stands with the public at all times. Public safety is the top priority of the administration. In case of any emergency, immediately contact the toll free number 1077 of the District Disaster Management Control Room, from where immediate assistance will be provided.
He appealed to the people not to pay heed to rumours, stay away from rivers and streams and follow the instructions issued by the administration.
