Chandigarh, July 19 - Haryana Environment Minister Rao Narbir Singh appealed to all RWDs of the district, social, religious, educational and other institutions of nearby districts to actively participate in the Matar Van campaign to be organized in Gurugram district on July 27 under the Aravalli Green Wall Project. Union Environment Minister Shri Bhupendra Yadav and Union Minister for Power, Housing and Urban Affairs Shri Manohar Lal will attend this special occasion as the chief guests.
Rao Narbir Singh said that this campaign will be conducted under the Aravalli Green Wall Project, in which a three-layer green forest area will be developed. The inspiration for this campaign has been taken from the Ek Peer Maa Naam initiative launched by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. In this series, on July 27, about 20,000 plants will be planted from Shiv Nadar School to Ghata Chowk, due to which this area will be developed as a forest.
He said that Gurugram is a rapidly growing modern city on the world map, in which, along with various projects related to development, we will also have to pay special attention to green development.
Matar Van campaign will play an important role in increasing the groundwater level, greenery will get an incentive
Rao Narbir Singh said that our civilization, culture and progress all depend on the environment. Plants play an important role in water storage. Water cannot be saved without plants. In the present time, due to increasing urbanization, it has become necessary to store water. Everyone will have to come forward in this direction.
Only by doing this can the water crisis be solved. In such a situation, this forest campaign will not only play an important role in increasing the groundwater level, but it will also give a boost to greenery. He appealed to the general public to plant and take care of trees wherever possible.
