Several revelations are being made during the investigation being conducted by the police in this case. During the recent investigation, it has come to light that Sonam (Raja Raghuvanshi's wife) had saved her Raj Kushwaha's number as Sanjay Verma to hide his identity. Hundreds of phone calls were exchanged between the two.
It is worth mentioning that Raja got married to Sonam on May 11. The couple left for Meghalaya for honeymoon on May 20 and Raja went missing on May 23, just 12 days after the wedding.
Key points revealed during the investigation so far
Sonam (wife) is accused of conspiring to murder her husband. Her lover, Raj Kushwaha (alias Sanjay Verma), has allegedly emerged as the main conspirator.
Phone records: Sonam had saved Raj's number as "Sanjay Verma" to hide his identity. From March 1 to April 8, 234 calls were exchanged between them, with each call lasting 30-60 minutes.
Arrests: Sonam, Raj Kushwaha, and her friends Vishal Chauhan, Akash Rajput, and Anand Kurmi have been arrested. Sonam surrendered in Uttar Pradesh on June 8. The rest were caught from Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
Police action: Meghalaya police recorded statements of Raja's family in Sahekar Nagar. Police confirmed that “Sanjay Verma” is actually Raj Kushwaha.
Family reaction: Sonam’s brother Govind said he had no knowledge about Sanjay Yadav. Raja’s family has demanded a narco-analysis of Sonam’s family. A family member, Govind, said he is ready to undergo any investigation to prove his innocence.
