Talking to the media about this achievement on the directions of SSP Harmandeep Singh Hans, Mr. Manpreet Singh, Superintendent of Police Rural, Mr. Talwinder Singh Gill, SP Operations and Mr. Naveenpal Singh Lehal, Deputy Superintendent of Police Derabassi said that Ins. Simran Singh, Chief Officer, Police Station Lalru, has made this recovery from the drug peddlers by Police Station Lalru.
SP (Rural) Manpreet Singh said that on 11/06/2025, during a patrol by Police Station Officer Rajinder Singh along with a police party from Gholumajra Bus Stop Main Highway Ambala to Chandigarh, an Innova car No. UK 08 AS 0300 was seen parked, in which two youths, Ranjodh Singh son of Sitara Singh, resident of village Madar, Police Station Khalra, District Tarn Taran, Jasvir Singh son of Angrej Singh, resident of village Mari, Police Station Bhikhiwind, District Tarn Taran, tried to flee from the spot on seeing the police party, who were caught. On suspicion of having any narcotics with them, Mr. Naveenpal Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub Division Derabassi was called to the spot. In the presence of DSP Sub Division, a total of 14 kg 370 grams of opium (7 kg 545 grams from one and 6 kg 825 grams from the other envelope) was recovered from the bag kept in the car, on which a case No. 87, dated 11.06.2025, under Section 18/61/85 of the NDPS Act, was registered against the said accused at Police Station Lalru and they were arrested.
He further informed that during the investigation, it was found that a case No. 208 dated 24/06/2021 under Section 21/61/85 of the NDPS Act was registered against the accused Ranjodh Singh. Act Police Station Jandiala Guru, Amritsar Rural (Recovery of 28 grams of heroin) and case number 06, dated 07 June 2019 under sections 18, 29/61/85 of the NDPS Act, Police Station Jandiala Guru, Amritsar Rural (Recovery of 4 kg 800 grams of opium) have been registered against the accused Jasbir Singh. He said that the accused are being produced in court and police remand is being obtained.
