
Extension lecture was organized by science department in Khalsa College Mahilpur
Mahilpur, April 13:- The science departments of Shri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Mahilpur here jointly with the Punjab Academy of Science, Patiala, of the undivided country, the first Indian scientist Professor Ruchi Ram made the first contributions to science in the Indian continent. An extension lecture dedicated to the contribution was organized. Former Vice Chancellor of Panjab University Professor RC Sobati participated as the main speaker on this occasion. The convenor of the ceremony, Dr. Komal Badhan, introduced Prof. RC Sobati and other personalities present during the lecture.

On this occasion, College Principal Dr Parvinder Singh and Vice Principal Aradhana Duggal welcomed the dignitaries with bouquets of flowers. Meanwhile, Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh shared words of welcome for Prof. RC Sobti, President of Punjab Academy of Science, Prof. Tarlok Singh and other office bearers. During the extension lecture, the keynote speaker Professor Sobati presented his valuable views on the history, present and future of science and technology in Punjab. He explained in detail the efforts of Professor Ruchi Ram Sahni to inculcate science consciousness in the society of undivided India. He said that Professor Ruchi Ram Sahni was an accomplished teacher, expert scientist and also a freedom fighter who through his nearly 500 speeches did the pioneering work of making the common people of Punjab aware of the subject of science. He also shared concerns about the growing impact of artificial intelligence in the current era in various sectors of society. On this occasion, Prof. Tarlok Singh, President of Punjab Academy of Science, congratulated the management of the college for conducting such a ceremony. He presented his views on science and scientific consciousness in Indian society and conducted a question and answer session with the students. On this occasion, the management of the college felicitated the present speakers by giving tokens of honor. On this occasion, Punjab Academy of Science Vice President Prof. MC Sidhu, Dr. Niranjan Singh, Dr. Bimal Mehta along with Dr. Arti Sharma, Dr. Varinder Kumar, Prof. Rohit Puri, Prof. Devinder Thakur, Prof. Navdeep Kaur among the teachers of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology. , Prof. Apoorva, Dr. Meenakshi, Prof. Sukhwinder Singh, Prof. Ragni, Prof. Ramandeep Kaur and many students of related subjects were present.
