Patiala- While celebrating World Environment Day, the famous institution of Patiala district, Gyan Jyoti Education Society Patiala, under the leadership of famous social worker Upkar Singh, planted trees in Nehru Park under the campaign "One tree in the name of mother" and took care of them.

The city's mayor Kundan Gogia planted shady trees like Gulmore, Neem, Amitaj etc. in the park to keep the environment clean. Gogia appealed to the city residents to keep our heritage garden city green by planting as many trees as possible and also take care of the planted trees.
The mayor also specially thanked Upkar Singh and Gyan Jyoti Education Society, who have been running the "Every person should plant two trees" campaign in the city for the last two decades. From parks, schools, ground multipurpose schools to Thapar University, Vikram College, Government College, Physical Education College, B.Ed. College, Center Jail School, etc., they have been planting trees in different villages and hamlets. Apart from this, their team has been serving the society by going to villages through medical camps, eye camps, corona scare camps.
On this occasion, Ram Saran ASI Special Education Cell Patiala Police, Parminder Bhalwan President Youth Federation of India and Power House Youth Club, Jatwinder Grewal Governor Awardee Member Drug Free Campaign, Po Maudgil, Manohar Gogia, Ravinder Sidhu, Pooja Jindal, Harmeet Upal, Charanpal Singh, Lakha ji Ved, Vinci, Sodi, Bedi, Khanna, Sood family, Gurvinder Singh, Mohan Lal, Pappu ji, and finally thanks to everyone. Former Assistant Director of Language Department, Punjab, Dr. Harnek Singh Dhot appealed to the general public to join the "Every person should plant two trees" and "One tree should be given to mother" campaign.
