Chandigarh- Today a drive was conducted by police, enforcement and road wing in Sector 34 in which people's cars were towed from the market or other places without informing them. Councillor Prem Lata said that if such drives are conducted then people should have been informed a day in advance or the announcement should have been made through the mike.
Not only in Sector 34 but also in other sectors of Chandigarh, there is always traffic problem due to vehicles, and it is very important to find a solution to this, but this does not mean that vehicles should be towed away without informing the public.
A person can also have an emergency. It takes time to handle such a situation and the support of the public is also needed. People are angry that how everyone's cars were towed away all of a sudden.
They had gone to the market to buy goods like every day, or for some other work. The police never took any action for so many years, then how were the cars towed away suddenly today. I request the police and enforcement to make sure that an announcement is made before starting any drive from now on.
