Zirakpur (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar), May 31: Shri Harmandeep Singh Hans, IPS Senior Superintendent of Police District SAS Nagar, during the campaign against anti-social elements by District Mohali Police, Shri Saurav Jindal PPS Superintendent of Police (Investigation), Shri Talwinder Singh PPS Superintendent of Police (Operation), Shri Jatinder Singh Chauhan PPS Sub-Captain of Police (Investigation) District SAS Nagar under the supervision of Inspector Harminder Singh, Incharge CIA. The staff team has succeeded in arresting 01 accused and recovering 05 rounds of live ammunition along with an illegal weapon pistol .32 bore from him.
Saurav Jindal, Superintendent of Police (Investigation) gave more information that on 28-05-2025, when the police party of CIA staff was present near Baltana Chowki, CIA staff ASI Jatinder Singh received information that Mandeep Singh son of Gurnam Singh, who is a resident of village Raipur Kalan, Chandigarh and works as a property dealer. He has opened a property dealer's office on Baltana-Raipur Road, who has an illegal weapon, which is currently present in his office along with his illegal weapon. If he is raided and arrested, then the illegal weapon can be recovered from him.
Based on the information received, a case No. 255 dated 28-05-2025 under Section 25-54-59 of the Arms Act was registered against the said Mandeep Singh at Police Station Zirakpur. The accused was arrested from his office on Baltana-Raipur Road and 05 live rounds of .32 bore along with an illegal pistol were recovered from him. He said that the accused Mandeep Singh son of late Gurnam Singh, resident of village Raipur Kalan, Police Station Mauli Jagran, Chandigarh, whose age is around 35 years, has passed 10 classes and is married. 
No case has been registered against the accused earlier, but his brother Hardeep Singh is lodged in Nabha Jail in a drug smuggling case. The accused is under police remand. The accused is being questioned as to from whom and for what purpose he purchased this illegal pistol.
