Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar/Chandigarh, May 29, 2025: Acting promptly on the clear instructions of Dr. Ravjot Singh, Local Bodies Minister, Government of Punjab, Municipal Council Zirakpur has immediately demolished the temporary structure of an illegal wine shop in Peer Muchalla area falling under its jurisdiction.
Confirming the details, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that on receiving a complaint of illegal encroachment on the Municipal Council land in Peer Muchalla, Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh had ordered the demolition of the wine shop structure.
He said that the Local Bodies Minister has been apprised of the action taken against this illegal construction.
MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa welcomed this prompt action and said that this wine shop was being run illegally on Municipal Council land and when Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh visited Municipal Council Zirakpur in the morning, the matter was brought to his notice.
Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the Cabinet Minister summoned a report from the officials, on the basis of which, taking immediate action, the officials demolished the illegal structure.
The Local Bodies Minister appealed to the general public not to carry out any kind of construction work on the encroached land to avoid any such action in future.
