Saroa- Under the campaign launched by the Punjab Government against drug abuse, MLA Santosh Kataria today appealed to the people during awareness programmes against drug abuse in various villages that complete eradication of this curse is possible through joint efforts of all.
Addressing the awareness programmes against drug abuse in the adjoining villages of Chuharpur, Sadhra, Malewal, Singhpur, Ranewal and Tapriyan, MLA Santosh Kataria said that the campaign launched for complete eradication of drug abuse under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is yielding fruitful results and it is not difficult to eradicate this social evil with the cooperation of the people.
He said that everyone should contribute in the efforts against drug abuse so that the dream of a drug-free and healthy society can be realised. MLA Santosh Kataria strongly appealed to the village residents, especially the Panchayats, to play an important role in spreading awareness about the ill-effects of drug abuse. He said that connecting the youth with sports and healthy activities is the need of the hour, for which everyone should make efforts. He also took an oath from the people as part of the ongoing campaign to end drug addiction. Apart from the village panchayats, Market Committee Chairman Sethi Udhanwal, Ashok Kataria, Baldev Raj etc. were also present on this occasion.
