Patiala dated 20 May 2025- Punjab Forest Department Employees Union (Registered) Punjab State President Balveer Singh Mandoli, State General Secretary Veerpal Singh Lumba, Meet Pradhan Major Singh Bahed, Mantej Singh, Forest workers gathered in large numbers at the residence of seven in Baradari Garden and protested against the salary pending for 10 years. Considering regularizing the workers who have completed their services, the leaders said that the government is limited to advertisements only.
So far the government has not made a single wage earner permanent nor has it been made permanent for the last three-four months. Salary has not been released to the laborers. Due to which the Kirti people are finding it very difficult to maintain their household. Many people did not even buy wheat or straw. The temporary workers are preparing to hold a protest rally in the government area.
While preparing the strategy for this, the leaders told during the meeting that deforestation is happening excessively, but no concrete steps are being taken to stop the workers working inside the NREGA belt. Government employees and the department are being harmed by adopting a double policy. Which the organization will not tolerate. Therefore, the government needed to immediately pay serious attention and take steps to save the forest department of Punjab.
In this meeting, the Kirti laborers have also expressed anger against the government regarding other demands. At this time Hardeep Singh Sirhind, Kulwinder Singh Rajpura, Kulwat Singh Nabha, Lajo Samana, Paramjit Kaur, Harcharan Singh, Harpreet Singh, Amarjit, Beant Singh, Bimla, Sarabjit Kaur, Harbans Kaur, Suresh Kumar etc. were present.
