Addressing a gathering at Langroa town (SBS Nagar), the former Delhi Chief Minister said that the state government has broken the back of drug abuse and the day is not far when drug abuse will be completely eradicated from Punjab. He said that under the Nasha Mukti Yatra, every village and town of the state will be reached so that maximum number of people can be involved in this war against drugs and Punjab can be made completely drug-free.
Arvind Kejriwal categorically stated that the day is not far when with the strenuous efforts of the state government, Punjab will not only become drug-free but will also become the leading state of the country in every respect. The former Delhi Chief Minister congratulated the Bhagwant Singh Mann-led State Government for its remarkable success in the war against drugs. He said that it is a matter of great joy that due to the concerted efforts of the State Government, the villages which were the hubs of drug abuse are now becoming drug-free.
Arvind Kejriwal said that earlier Bollywood used to make films on the backdrop of drug trafficking, now the times have changed and the youth of the State are making their name in the field of sports. The former Delhi Chief Minister said that the Ministers of the earlier governments used to patronize the drug traffickers and even sell/supply drugs in their official vehicles.
He further said that now quintals of drugs are being seized by the police and strict action is being taken against the culprits to set an example for other criminals. Arvind Kejriwal said that unlike earlier times when drug traffickers enjoyed the protection of the Government, now 10,000 drug traffickers including 8500 big fishes have been arrested by the AAP Government. The former Chief Minister of Delhi said that this State Government had taken a firm resolve that no one will be allowed to sell drugs in Punjab and the Government has succeeded in this task.
He said that drug smugglers are dangerous criminals but we have taken strict action against them without caring for our lives. Arvind Kejriwal said that we may lose our lives in this fight against drugs but we will ensure that drugs are completely eradicated from the State. The National Convenor of AAP said that now the time has come when all of us should come forward and contribute in this fight against drugs.
He said that the property of drug smugglers has been seized/destroyed and this campaign will continue in the coming times as well. He said that now the war against drugs is being turned into a mass movement, for which active cooperation of the people is needed. Arvind Kejriwal said that the war against drugs will be taken to the grassroots level and people of about 13000 villages of the State will be connected with this campaign.
He said that the property of drug smugglers has been seized/destroyed and this campaign will continue in the coming times as well. He said that now the war against drugs is being converted into a mass movement, for which active cooperation of the people is needed. Arvind Kejriwal said that the war against drugs will be taken to the grassroots level and people of about 13000 villages of the State will be connected with this campaign. The former Chief Minister of Delhi said that to channelize the immense energy of the youth in a positive direction, the state government will build a stadium in every village of the state. He said that to promote sports on a large scale in the state, 3000 gyms will be built in 3000 big villages of the state. Arvind Kejriwal said that about 54000 jobs have already been given to the youth in the state and the government has made a large scale plan to provide employment to the youth of every village.
