
94 percent of paddy has been lifted from the Mandis of Punjab - Harchand Singh Barsat
Mohali / Chandigarh, November 26, 2024- Chairman of Punjab Mandi Board S. Harchand Singh Barsat took stock of the ongoing procurement operations in the Mandis of the state. After this, he informed that till now 99 percent of the paddy crop reached the Mandis has been purchased. Along with this, 94 percent of the lifting of paddy has been completed. There is a decrease in the daily arrival of paddy crop in the Mandis of the state of Punjab. The paddy reaching the Mandis is being purchased and lifting is also going on fast.

After this, he informed that till now 99 percent of the paddy crop reached the Mandis has been purchased. Along with this, 94 percent of the lifting of paddy has been completed. There is a decrease in the daily arrival of paddy crop in the Mandis of the state of Punjab. The paddy reaching the Mandis is being purchased and lifting is also going on fast.
He said that the Honorable Chief Minister of Punjab S. Punjab Government under the leadership of Bhagwant Singh Mann and Punjab Mandi Board have made arrangements for clean drinking water, electric lights, cleanliness, bathrooms, shade etc. in group mandis of the state for smooth running of paddy procurement operations and no problem was faced by the farmers bringing their produce to the mandis. So far, 170.92 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has arrived in the mandis of the state, out of which 169.59 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased and 169.19 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased by Government agencies.
Under this, 69,67,446 metric tonnes have been purchased by Pangrain, 10,00,446 metric tonnes by FCI, 10,00,446 metric tonnes by FCI, 10,00,446 metric tonnes by Pungrain, 10,00,446 metric tonnes by FCI, 10,00,446 metric tonnes by PNB ... 1,46,721 metric tons of paddy has been purchased by the government, 43,15,088 metric tons by Markfed, 35,70,177 metric tons by Punsup, 19,19,332 metric tons by warehouses and 40,506 metric tons by traders.
On Monday, 82,166 metric tons of paddy arrived in the mandis, while 1,00,566 metric tons were purchased and 3.11 lakh metric tons of paddy was lifted. He informed that till date, Ludhiana district has purchased the highest amount of paddy at 16,15,221 metric tons, while Sangrur is at the second place with 13,10,872 metric tons and Bathinda is at the third place with 12,31,876 metric tons of paddy.
