Drug-free yatras to sensitize Raksha Committees in villages/wards against drugs from tomorrow: Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, May 6: In the next phase of the decisive fight against drugs launched by Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann on February 24, the government has now started a series of awareness meetings with Raksha Committees at the village level and ward level.

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, May 6: In the next phase of the decisive fight against drugs launched by Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann on February 24, the government has now started a series of awareness meetings with Raksha Committees at the village level and ward level. 
The purpose of these meetings will be to sensitize the members of the Village Raksha Committees and Ward Raksha Committees to inform the police and district administration about the activities of drug smugglers, and to motivate them to bring drug victims to the drug-free centers for treatment.
Giving this information, Deputy Commissioner of District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar Mrs. Komal Mittal said that this yatra will start from May 7 in Derabassi and Mohali constituencies while in Kharar constituency this yatra will start from May 8. The drug de-addiction yatra in SAS Nagar constituency will be led by MLA S. Kulwant Singh while in Derabassi constituency the drug de-addiction yatras will be led by MLA S. Kuljit Singh Randhawa. The drug de-addiction yatras in Kharar constituency will be led by MLA Smt. Anmol Gagan Mann. The Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the arrangements by holding an online meeting with the Sub-Divisional Magistrates of all the sub-divisions today. ADC (Rural Development), DDPO Baljinder Singh Grewal and Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr. Parvinder Pal Kaur were also present in the meeting.
The Deputy Commissioner appealed to the people of all the villages and wards to participate in the yatra to be held in their respective villages on the scheduled date and said that if we do not unite against drugs at the grassroots level, then our young generation will have to bear the brunt of it. He said that it becomes our duty that we also strongly support this campaign started by the government and the administration.
Giving information about the scheduled schedule of these yatras in the district, he said that in SAS Nagar (Mohali) constituency, MLA Kulwant Singh will visit Sambalki on May 7 at 3.30 pm, Nanu Majra at 4.30 pm, Raipur Khurd at 5.30 pm, Maujpur at 3.30 pm, Saidpur at 4.30 pm, Gidderpur at 5.30 pm, Lakhnaur at 3.30 pm, Bhagomajra at 4.30 pm, Bairampur at 5.30 pm, Chapparchiri Khurd at 3.30 pm, Kailon at 4.30 pm, Landran at 5.30 pm, Balongi at 3.30 pm, Ballomajra at 4.30 pm, Baliali at 5.30 pm. 5.30, on May 14 at Daun at 3.30 pm, at Ramgarh at 4.30 pm, at Raipur at 5.30 pm, on May 15 at Barmajra at 3.30 pm, at Jujhar Nagar at 4.30 pm, at Bahlolpur at 5.30 pm, on May 19 at Jhampur at 3.30 pm, at Tadauli at 4.30 pm, at Manana at 5.30 pm Awareness meeting will be held under the Yatra against Drugs.
