Western Army Commander says: Vajra Corps future-ready and mission-focused,

Jalandhar- Lt Gen Manoj Kumar Katiyar, PVSM, AVSM, Army Commander, Western Command, completed a two-day visit to the prestigious Vajra Corps on 16-17 April 2025. The objective of the visit was to assess the operational readiness and administrative efficiency of the formation.

During the visit, Lt Gen Ajay Chandpuria, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding, Vajra Corps briefed the Army Commander about the existing security environment and various visionary initiatives taken to enhance coordination among all stakeholders. He also outlined major efforts to strengthen border infrastructure and highlighted the Corps’ growing role in nation building.
The Army Commander reviewed the progress of various ongoing projects and discussed the roadmap for future development. On the occasion, he dedicated several newly completed residential and welfare facilities for the soldiers and their families.
The Army Commander appreciated the high morale, professionalism and unwavering commitment to excellence of the soldiers. He urged all sections to actively adopt emerging technologies, and stressed the need to build a modern, agile and future-ready force - capable of protecting national interests against both existing and emerging threats.
At the end of his visit, Lt Gen Katiyar, while acknowledging the contribution of Vajra Corps in furthering the broader goals of national development, expressed satisfaction over the operational readiness of Vajra Corps and expressed full confidence in the formation's ability to effectively respond to any challenge on the country's western borders.
