
Bhog and Special: Daljit Singh Bassi was a sociable and good-natured person.
Daljit Singh Bassi, a sociable and good-natured person, was born on 1 June 1946 in village Salamatpur Tehsil Majri (which is his maternal village) to Mata Sant Kaur. Due to the good upbringing of his father S. Rulda Singh, he became famous in every field. After his birth, the entire family came to his native village in village Barauli Majra and started living there. He did his primary education from a school in village Barauli Majra and obtained his B.A. degree from DAV College, Chandigarh, he was also the president of the college. He studied law from Punjab University.

He started his law practice in Kharar and continued to practice as a lawyer until the year 2024. Apart from this, he also took care of his family's ancestral business of transport till 2008 and his family's background was considered as transporters in the area. He was also the Sarpanch of village Barauli Majra and he did very commendable work for the development of the village. After his stint as Sarpanch, his younger brother Kuldeep Singh remained the Sarpanch of village Barauli Majra and the Bassi family served as the Sarpanch of village Barauli Majra for about 20 years and actively participated in the development works of the village. Senior Advocate Daljit Singh Bassi is survived by his wife Kuldeep Kaur Bassi, his daughter Yadwinder Kaur and two sons Senior Advocate Pritpal Singh Bassi and Princepreet Jeet Singh Bassi. The Bhog and Path of Daljit Singh Bassi will be held on Friday, April 18 from 12:30 to 1:30 pm at Gurdwara Sri Sacha Dhanu Sahib Phase 3B1 Mohali.
