As part of the war against drugs, illegal construction made by drug smugglers was demolished in Aud.

Nawanshahr- Under the 'War on Drugs' campaign launched by the Punjab Government for the elimination of drugs, an unauthorized construction was demolished in Aud today by Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Police in coordination with the local civil administration to eradicate drugs and remove illegal occupation by drug smugglers. This illegal construction was made by a person named Dev Raj Devi, which was demolished on the orders of the civil administration.

Giving information in this regard, SSP Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Dr. Mehtab Singh said that the civil administration had sought police assistance to demolish this illegal construction, on which it was demolished by deploying heavy police force, so that law and order problem does not arise. He said that this action has been taken against a person named Dev Raj Devi, against whom 18 cases are registered, out of which 13 cases are registered under the NDPS Act.
He said that under the war against drugs, 253 cases have been registered by the district police since last month and 284 people have been arrested and sent to jail. He reiterated that on the instructions of the Punjab government, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar police will continue to take action against drugs and illegal possession.
He appealed to the people to give information about such illegal activities. He assured that immediate and strict action will be taken against the culprits. He warned the drug smugglers that either they should leave drug smuggling and do some other work or be ready for the strictest action.
On this occasion, local residents welcomed this action of the Punjab government. People said that they welcome these efforts being made by the Punjab government to end drug abuse in the state. On this occasion, SDM Ravindra Bansal, SP Iqbal Singh, SP Sarabjit Singh Bahia, DSP Raj Kumar and other officers were present.
