Hoshiarpur- Local MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa today paid tribute to Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar on his 134th birth anniversary by offering flowers to the statue of Baba Saheb located at Ambedkar Chowk near the local bus stand. On this occasion, Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh, Lok Sabha member Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal and MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar along with a large number of dignitaries were present with him.
MLA Jimpa said on this occasion that the sense of harmony, equality and social justice created by Dr. Ambedkar in the society is still relevant today. By creating the Indian Constitution, he not only gave direction to the country but also worked to give rights to the weaker, Dalit and backward classes. He said that the Punjab government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is committed to realizing the dreams of Baba Saheb.
Many schemes are being implemented to promote education, health, employment and social equality in the society. Jimpa said that we should pledge today that we will follow the path shown by Dr. Ambedkar and strengthen the spirit of equality, brotherhood and justice in the society.
