Garhshankar - Today on 12th October 2024, the block level monthly meeting of Punjab Pensioners Welfare Association was held under the chairmanship of Shri Sarup Chand Tehsil General Secretary Garhshankar. In the meeting, the Punjab Government's 'Dhan Tapau' and 'Lare Lappe' policy was strongly condemned.
The speakers criticized the intention and policy of the Punjab Government and said that the government gets its allowance and salary passed in a day. But the Punjab Government has nothing to give to those who spent the golden time of their lives for the country and society. Pensioners were given a lame pay commission, against the flaws of which the comrades have been continuously fighting.
The governments are also considering the decisions of the courts as poignant. The arrears of DA installments of 139 months of the Pay Commission are weighing heavily on the government. In the meeting, the struggle done in the past was evaluated and emphasis was laid on being prepared for future struggle. The speakers have asked to participate in the rally of Narol pensioners to be held in Mohali from Tehsil Garhshankar on 22/10/2024. The meeting was addressed by Shri Parmanand, Balwant Ram, Sarup Chand Tehsil General Secretary and Jagdish Rai.
Shri Mukhtiar Chand, Gurpyar Ram, Lahimbar Singh, Ratan Singh, Mangha Ram, Malkit Ram, Satpal Singh, Jagdish Rai, Balwant Ram, Sarup Chand, Parmanand etc. participated in the meeting.
