Punjab will emerge as a leading state on the sports map: Dr. Ravjot Singh.

Hoshiarpur- Punjab Local Government Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh, while addressing the closing ceremony of the first volleyball and tug-of-war tournament organized by the village panchayat at village Bainstaniwal on Sunday, said that due to the concerted efforts of the state government, Punjab will soon emerge as a leading state on the sports map of the country.

Hoshiarpur- Punjab Local Government Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh, while addressing the closing ceremony of the first volleyball and tug-of-war tournament organized by the village panchayat at village Bainstaniwal on Sunday, said that due to the concerted efforts of the state government, Punjab will soon emerge as a leading state on the sports map of the country.
After introducing the village panchayat and the players, including the dignitaries, Local Government Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab government is paying attention to promoting village-to-village sports, under which along with constructing playgrounds in the villages, gyms will be prepared. He said that the government has made a provision of Rs. 979 crore for sports during the current financial year, which is the highest amount released for the sports sector in the history of Punjab so far.
He said that the state government is determined to further strengthen the sports culture and infrastructure in the state and such tournaments in villages will prove helpful in this direction. He said that Punjabi youth have an immense spirit of hard work and dedication, with which they have proved their abilities all over the world and Punjabis have left a unique mark in sports as well and made great achievements all over the world.
Talking about the medals won by Punjabi players in various sports at the national and international levels, Cabinet Minister Dr. Ravjot Singh said that this is the first time that financial assistance has been given to the players for the preparation of international level competitions.
He said that the sports of the homeland of Punjab has played an important role in further promoting the sports culture across the state by providing a suitable platform to the players to showcase their skills. He said that the state government will leave no stone unturned in promoting sports in the state and all necessary facilities will be provided to the players.
Announcing the strengthening of the outer wall of village Bainstaniwal, giving a new look to the stadium and providing Rs 51 thousand, Dr. Ravjot Singh said that the Aam Aadmi Party government is changing the face of the villages by getting the necessary development works done, under which funds are being made available to the panchayats for development works. Panchayat, Sarpanch Santosh Singh, NRI Baljit Singh USA Iqbal Singh Canada, Harbhajan Singh, Tirath Singh Sarabjit Singh Saba, Navtej Singh Bains, , Onkar Singh, Rachpal Singh, Ranbir Singh, Amrik Singh, Amartej Singh etc. were also present.
