Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, April 9: In exercise of the powers vested in her by District Magistrate Smt. Komal Mittal under Section 163, Chapter 11 of the Indian Civil Protection Code, 2023 (46 of 2023), orders have been issued to close meat, egg shops, street vendors and slaughter houses located in Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti on April 10.
Smt. Komal Mittal said that killing animals on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti can hurt religious customs and sentiments. Therefore, in order to maintain religious harmony and keep in mind the faith of the general public, a ban is imposed on the sale of meat, egg and meat in shops, hotels, and restaurants in SAS Nagar district on April 10.
