
Department of Urdu, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized Mushaira: What slips from my hands like sand
Chandigarh January 17, 2024 - A Mushaira was organized by the Urdu Department of Punjab University, Chandigarh in collaboration with Punjab Urdu Academy Malirkotla (Government of Punjab) which was presided over by Dr. Sultan Anjum. Among the poets, Shams Tabrizi, Prof. Naveen, Dr. Sultan Anjum, Vijay Akhtar, Dr. Sangeeta, Ms. Mamta and Jaipal Singh participated.
Chandigarh January 17, 2024 - A Mushaira was organized by the Urdu Department of Punjab University, Chandigarh in collaboration with Punjab Urdu Academy Malirkotla (Government of Punjab) which was presided over by Dr. Sultan Anjum. Among the poets, Shams Tabrizi, Prof. Naveen, Dr. Sultan Anjum, Vijay Akhtar, Dr. Sangeeta, Ms. Mamta and Jaipal Singh participated.
At the beginning of the Mushaira, tribute was paid to the famous poet "Munawar Rana" and grief over his demise was expressed.
Chairman of the Department, Dr. Ali Abbas, while welcoming the guests, discussed the importance and usefulness of Mushaira and threw light on the history of Mushaira in Urdu. It also inculcates creativity in them. He further said that through this they also become aware of reading poetry and the aim is also to make them aware of the direction and pace of poetry and literary works of the present time. In Mushaira, poets presented their poetry in the following manner:
The storm that took away the peace of my heart
just calling it dust
there is no disrespect wherever one goes
This is what they are calling rule (Sultan Anjum)

You have a dot here, I have a dot here.

It is known that a large number of people were present in this Mushaira. At the end of the Mushaira, Professor Rehana Parveen encouraged the students with her words. The enthusiasm doubled.
Dr. Zulfikar Ali graced the occasion by conducting the Mushaira.
