SAS Nagar, April 8: Deputy Mayor of Mohali Municipal Corporation Kuljit Singh Bedi has strongly condemned the rude behaviour meted out to teachers by Punjab government minister Chetan Singh Joda Majra at an event organised in the name of education revolution.
In a statement issued here, he said that it is very shameful that the teachers who are working hard every day to educate the children and youth of Punjab and show them the right path and make their future bright are being publicly humiliated by a minister of the Aam Aadmi Party.
He claimed that during the event, the minister not only scolded the children while speaking on the mic from the stage, but also reprimanded the teachers in derogatory terms. He said that the minister's words 'what will you teach', 'I will send a complaint of all the teachers to the Chief Minister and Education Minister today', were not only unnecessary but also an insult to the entire education system.
He demanded that Minister Chetan Singh Joda Majra should publicly apologize to the teachers for his bad and insensitive behavior. The Deputy Mayor said that this minister has a history of openly insulting the officers under his departments. He demanded that this minister should be removed from the cabinet.
