Hoshiarpur- Recently, sharp reactions are coming on the writing of derogatory words near the statue of Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar in a village near Phillaur and a statement made against him by Gurpatwant Pannu. On this matter, senior journalist Dr. Daljit Ajanoha had a special conversation with BJP leader and former cabinet minister Sohan Singh Thandal.
During the conversation, Sohan Singh Thandal strongly condemned this incident and called it a conspiracy to divide the society. He said that Baba Saheb Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar was a great thinker and social reformer not only of the Dalit community but of the whole of India. The insulting act on his statue will not be tolerated under any circumstances. Sohan Singh Thandal termed Gurpatwant Pannu's statement as anti-national and demanded the Government of India to take strict legal action against him.
He said that such elements are trying to spread unrest in the society and they should be given strict punishment so that such incidents can be prevented in future. While talking to senior journalist Dr. Daljeet Ajanoha, Thandal also said that it is the joint responsibility of all of us to maintain harmony in the society.
Strict steps should be taken to stop hate-mongering activities. He appealed to the common people to maintain peace and avoid any provocative activity.
