
Elderly and heart patients should avoid morning walks - Dr. Aksita Gupta
Nawanshahr- Dr. Akshita Gupta, IAS, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Nawanshahr-cum-Honorary Secretary, Red Cross Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, in a series of compliance of the instructions issued by Deputy Commissioner, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Mr. Rajesh Dhiman, IAS and Revenue, Rehabilitation and Disaster Management Department regarding cold wave season 2025, in collaboration with District Red Cross Society, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar, distributed warm jackets and shoes to the needy people at various places in the city in the increasing cold.

The district administration has appealed to the general public that the elderly and heart patients should avoid morning walks and not stay out of the house without any necessary work so that cold-related diseases like pneumonia, shivering, muscle cramps etc. can be avoided. Apart from this, it has also been told that negligence towards health in the continuously falling temperature during the cold season can prove to be dangerous.
Therefore, he directed the BDPO, EO, Revenue and Health Department officials to strictly follow the SOP issued by the Ministry of Science, Government of India. Health department officials were asked to make the elderly more aware that they should avoid walking in cold weather. On this occasion, they gave jackets to poor elderly people working in the cold.
