Operation CASO: Search conducted under the supervision of ADGP Naresh Arora

Hoshiarpur- Under the war on drugs campaign launched by the Punjab government from March 1, a search operation was conducted in the district today under the leadership of Additional Director General of Police (Human Rights) Naresh Arora and SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik, during which more than 600 police officers and personnel searched 34 places and took necessary action.

Hoshiarpur- Under the war on drugs campaign launched by the Punjab government from March 1, a search operation was conducted in the district today under the leadership of Additional Director General of Police (Human Rights) Naresh Arora and SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik, during which more than 600 police officers and personnel searched 34 places and took necessary action.
While talking to journalists during the search in urban areas, ADGP Naresh Arora said that on the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and DGP Gaurav Yadav, searches are being conducted under Operation Kaso, which has been started today under the 'War on Drugs' campaign across the state. He said that drug addiction is a social problem, which can be eradicated with the joint efforts of all.
He said that the role of people, especially parents and teachers, is very important in this work, who can mobilize the youth against drug addiction by giving guidance from time to time. He said that the civil and police administration is taking strict action against drug smugglers and is also making strong efforts for rehabilitation and rehabilitating drug addicts so that these people can be motivated towards a good and healthy life.
He said that drug smugglers and drug peddlers will be dealt with strictly in the district, for which special searches are being conducted in drug hotspot areas. Giving information about Operation Kaso, SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik said that more than 600 police teams searched 34 places in the district.
He said that during the search, 06 cases were registered under NDPS Act and Excise Act and 10 accused were arrested and 270 grams of heroin, 2060 intoxicant pills and 78000 ml of illegal liquor were recovered.
He said that in the past, the police in the district has confiscated illegal property worth more than Rs 25 crore made by drug smugglers by selling drugs. He said that in future also strict legal action will be taken against those involved in drug trade.
