Hoshiarpur- While reviewing the ongoing works under Mission Amrit Sarovar in the district, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain directed the Rural Development and Panchayat Department and NHAI officials to expedite the work of this project.
While reviewing the ongoing development works in the district at the local District Administrative Complex, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain said that the concerned departments should speed up the pace of these works through mutual coordination so that the required water tanks can be constructed under the mission. She asked the officials of the National Highways Authority to provide information about the status of these works to the Deputy Commissioner's office from time to time so that necessary action can be taken and these works can be completed within the stipulated time. He said that under the second phase of Amrit Sarovar, suitable places should be identified and the concerned parties should be contacted so that the work can be started.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the instructions of the National Water Mission should be strictly followed to revive the already established water tanks and make necessary improvements. He directed the officers of the Panchayat Department to take necessary action to implement the proposed Amrit Sarovar project in their respective areas as soon as possible. Additional Deputy Commissioner Nicas Kumar was also present on the occasion.
