Khalsa College Punjabi Department organised Ajaib Kamal Memorial Award and Literary Scholarship Distribution Ceremony.

Mahilpur, March 26- The Post Graduate Punjabi Department of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Mahilpur, under the leadership of Sikh Educational Council President Sant Sadhu Singh Kaharpur, Patron Dr. Jang Bahadur Singh Rai, Manager Inderjit Singh Bharta and Secretary Prof. Apinder Singh, organised the Ajaib Kamal Annual Memorial Award and Annual Literary Scholarship Distribution Ceremony, which was started with the financial support of the family members of late Ajaib Kamal, an alumnus of the college and founder of experimental poetry.

Mahilpur, March 26- The Post Graduate Punjabi Department of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College, Mahilpur, under the leadership of Sikh Educational Council President Sant Sadhu Singh Kaharpur, Patron Dr. Jang Bahadur Singh Rai, Manager Inderjit Singh Bharta and Secretary Prof. Apinder Singh, organised the Ajaib Kamal Annual Memorial Award and Annual Literary Scholarship Distribution Ceremony, which was started with the financial support of the family members of late Ajaib Kamal, an alumnus of the college and founder of experimental poetry.
On this occasion, the organisers presented the first Ajaib Kamal Annual Memorial Award-2025 to the famous Punjabi storyteller and history writer Mr. Ajmer Sidhu. Dr. was in the Chairman's Board of the ceremony. Lakhwinder Johal, Kamaljit Singh Canada, Dr. Labh Singh Khiva, Prince Jahmohan Singh, Prince Dr. Parwinder Singh and Dr. Harjinder Singh Atwal attended the ceremony. At the beginning of the function, students Harshpreet Kaur and Yokita presented famous poems and ghazals of Ajaib Kamal.
College Principal Dr. Parvinder Singh said in his welcome address that story writer Gulzar Singh Sandhu and writer Ajaib Kamal have made the name of Khalsa College Mahilpur famous all over the world with their great contribution to the Punjabi literature world. He expressed his gratitude to the family of Ajaib Kamal for giving financial support to the college for the prosperity of literature and welfare of the students and congratulated Ajmer Sidhu on receiving this award.
On this occasion, poet Madan Veera presented his views on the works and personality of Ajaib Kamal and described him as a great thinker and writer of Punjabi poetry. On this occasion, BA Part I student Harveer Mann read the letter of appreciation about the literary works of Mr. Ajmer Sidhu, who received the Ajaib Kamal Memorial Award.
Head of the Department Dr. JB Sekhon told about the contribution made by Ajmer Sidhu in the field of story writing and the contribution made by Ajaib Kamal's family to the Ajaib Kamal Memorial Award and Scholarship Fund. On this occasion, the award-winning storyteller Ajmer Sidhu shared his views on his literary creation and recalled his literary association with Ajaib Kamal.
On this occasion, literary scholarship amount for the year 2025 was given to students Monika (BA Part II), Bharti (BA Part II), Sahil Sharma (MA Part I) and Rajwinder Kaur (MA Part II) for their good performance in literary creation and presentation. On this occasion, Dr. Balveer Kaur and Dr. Prabhjot Kaur gave information about the performance of the said students. Dr. Lakhwinder Singh Johal said that Khalsa College Mahilpur is a college with a nursery of literature along with football.
Dr. Labh Singh Khiva expressed his views on the contribution of poet Ajaib Kamal in the entire poetry including experimentalism. At the end of the ceremony, Principal Jagmohan Singh and Kamaljit Singh (Canada) shared memories of their father Ajaib Kamal associated with the college and assured all kinds of support in the future.
On this occasion, Prof. Ajit Langeri, Navtej Gadhdiwala, Surinder Singh Neki, Paramjit Singh Mann, Surjit Suman, Vijay Bambeli, Pammi Dawadi Dasuha, Baljinder Mann, Pawan Bhamian, Santokh Singh Veer, Rupindpjot Babbu, Principal Balwinder Singh Manoli, Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Prof. Ashok Kumar, Prof. Jasdeep Kaur, Principal Sarabjit Singh, Jeevan Chandeli, Avtar Singh Ghodewahi and students of the college were also present.
