Hoshiarpur- Rayat Bahra B.Ed. College celebrated 'Shaheed Utsav' in the memory of martyrs Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru. On this occasion, students from various departments of the college participated enthusiastically and took part in patriotic activities.
Campus Director Dr. Chandra Mohan paid tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs and appealed to the youth to take inspiration from their ideals. He said that it is not only important to remember the martyrs but also to implement their ideas.
The presentation of patriotic songs enthralled the audience, which awakened enthusiasm and national sentiments among the students. Apart from this, speech and poster making competitions were organised, in which the students displayed their ideas and creativity. The winning students were honoured.
Chief Guests Prof. Prashant Sethi and Ravinder Pal Singh told the students in detail about the struggle of the martyrs and their indomitable spirit. Prof. Prashant Sethi said that the thoughts of martyrs Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru are as relevant today as they were earlier. He appealed to the youth to understand their ideology and follow their ideals.
He said that just remembering the martyrs is not enough, but adopting their thoughts and bringing positive change in the society will be the true tribute. On this occasion, the entire staff including the college principal was present. The program ended with the national anthem, which further strengthened the feeling of patriotism among the students.
