MPs to ensure health check-up of themselves and their constituencies: Nadda.

New Delhi, March 21 - Union Health Minister JP Nadda today appealed to all MPs to ensure a complete health check-up of themselves and their constituencies every year to detect health problems early. In the Lok Sabha, Mr. Nadda said that the government has started a campaign to get all citizens aged 30 years and above free health check-up at Ayushman Arogya Mandir.

New Delhi, March 21 - Union Health Minister JP Nadda today appealed to all MPs to ensure a complete health check-up of themselves and their constituencies every year to detect health problems early. In the Lok Sabha, Mr. Nadda said that the government has started a campaign to get all citizens aged 30 years and above free health check-up at Ayushman Arogya Mandir.
The aim of the free check-up is to detect high blood pressure, diabetes and cancer. The Minister said that since the start of the campaign, 35 crore people have been checked, out of which 4.2 crore people were found to be suffering from high blood pressure and 2.6 crore people were found to be suffering from diabetes. He said that 29.35 crore people were checked for oral cancer, out of which 1.18 crore people were confirmed to be suffering from cancer.
Nadda said that as per the budget announcement, the government is going to set up Cancer Day Care Centres in every district, where chemotherapy can be given. He said, "This year we are going to open 200 such centres across the country. The rest will be opened in the coming years."
