Hoshiarpur- State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD), Chandigarh organized a workshop to provide information on Panchayati Raj Act and Village Shared Land Act at BDPO Office Bhunga.
Advocate Ashwani Verma from Punjab & Haryana High Court and District Court Hoshiarpur delivered a special lecture. He informed the Panchayat members about the legal framework and importance of Village Shared Land. He emphasized on making the Panchayats and Sarpanchs understand their rights and responsibilities so that they can take good care of the villages.
Resource persons Prabhjot Singh and Neha Sharma from SIRD Chandigarh also made the Panchayat members aware about the role of Panchayats in governance, implementation of policies and welfare of villages.
BDPO Bhunga Dilpreet Singh Chhina also shared his views during the workshop and appealed to the Panchayat Pradhans to play their role actively.
During this workshop, the Panchs and Sarpanchs discussed their role in the development plans of the villages, so that the progress of the villages can get a new impetus.
