Meeting with officials of Banks, Income Tax, Excise, GST Department by Deputy Commission

Mahilpur - In view of the by-election of Chabewal Assembly Constituency, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal today held a meeting with the officials of Bank, Income Tax, Excise, GST departments as well as printing press owners at the District Administrative Complex. He instructed the concerned officials and said that the Election Commission of India has implemented the Election Code. Therefore, necessary steps should be taken to prevent the illegal movement of cash from the banks and the illegal smuggling of liquor. For each candidate needs to open a separate bank account for election expenses.

 Therefore, the candidates standing in the bank elections should immediately deposit their money in the bank for assistance in opening the account. He said that a report should be sent by the bank regarding suspicious transactions of more than 10 lakh rupees. He said that special care should be taken during the elections that more than one transaction is not taking place from the same account, if it is so then it should be brought to attention immediately. Additionally, accounts transferring money from the same bank account to different accounts through RTGS should be monitored.
The district election officer said that the banks should also ensure that the cash vans of the outsourced agencies or the companies carrying the cash of that bank do not under any circumstances carry the cash of any third party other than the banks. Whenever cash is transported on their behalf, it is mandatory for them to have the documents issued by the banks. Employees entering the cash van must have their identity card.
 He also directed the Excise Department to be more vigilant. Addressing the printing press owners, the District Election Officer said that while printing any type of campaign material, pamphlet or advertisement during the Adarsh ??Election Code, it should be mandatory to print the full address of the printer and the publisher. He directed that before printing any campaign material, a declaration should be taken on whose behalf the election material is being printed and at what cost. And information about the cost of published campaign material should be ensured to the District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner office.
