
Guru Nanak International Education Trust's unique initiative, celebrated Vaisakhi festival with students of Government Elementary School of Happiness.
Hoshiarpur- Guru Nanak International Education Trust UK organized a function to celebrate Vaisakhi festival with school students in Government Elementary School of Happiness located in Mohalla Preet Nagar, village Agjowal, Hoshiarpur. This locality of village Agjowal is a slum area and a large population of Sigligar community lives in this area and most of the families earn their living by doing labour work.

This locality of village Agjowal is a slum area and a large population of Sigligar community lives in this area and most of the families earn their living by doing labour work.
People of this area were not aware of education and were earning their living by doing daily wage work and their children were also working as daily wage workers generation after generation, due to which their life is passing amidst financial crisis.
But after adopting the Government Elementary Smart School of Preet Nagar locality, Guru Nanak International Education Trust, along with the school staff, is making special efforts to make the school building attractive and modern as well as to make children aware of reading by going door to door.
Giving information in this regard, the President of the Trust, Professor Bahadur Singh Sunet said that his main objective is to create awareness about the importance of education in this area and to make special efforts for the development of these families so that these people can improve their lives by studying. Under this series, today he reached the Government Elementary School of Happiness Preet Nagar. The officials of Guru Nanak International Education Trust and the dignitaries of the area celebrated the festival of Vaisakhi with the children and shared their happiness.
On this occasion, children and their parents were made aware about the importance of education and sweets were also distributed to the children. On this occasion, School Incharge Parveen Kumar said that this school has now become one of the leading schools of Punjab and the Punjab Government is developing it as a School of Happiness in which children will be given education in a modern way. He said that there is an atmosphere of happiness among the children, their parents and in the area due to this decision of the government.
He thanked Guru Nanak International Educational Trust and said that the Trust is making special efforts to take the children of these people forward in the field of education. Trust Chairman Sardar Ranjit Singh, resident of England and Managing Trustee Mr. J.S. Ahluwalia, Gurpreet Singh, Principal Rachna Kaur, Jatinder Kaur, Omkar Singh Khalsa, Advocate Jaspal Singh congratulated all the students and their parents on the festival of Vaisakhi through their messages and said that they should try to bring glory to the state and the country by getting as much education as possible and the Trust will always support them.
School Principal Mr. Parveen Kumar assured the Trust members that the day is not far when our school will be included in the list of first class schools of Punjab. He thanked the trust for its support. On this occasion, the village head Mrs. Aarti, Mr. Sandeep Singh Babbu Pradhan, all the village Panchs, school staff and parents of the children were also present.
