Prof. Bhatia said that under this scheme, Apada Mitra volunteers are being trained in many districts of India to deal with disasters and provide immediate assistance to people. Each trained community volunteer will be provided with a personal protective equipment/emergency action kit as well as group insurance covering life and medical facilities. A 'Community Emergency Essential Resource Reserve' of essential lighting search and rescue equipment, first aid kits etc. will be created at the district/block level. Under the scheme, training under the supervision of Prof. Jog Singh Bhatia (Course Director and Senior Consultant, Magsipa) from all States/UTs for rescue and relief operations during other calamities like flood, cyclone, landslide, drought, earthquake etc. was given The above camp was attended by Shruti Aggarwal (Counselor), Yogesh Unyal (Training Coordinator), Amanpreet Kaur, Gulshan Hira, Harkirat Singh, Yogesh Bharadwaj, Shubham Verma, Stanjin Sela, Kumari Nurnisha, Sachin Sharma and Anshuman Sharda Disaster Mitra Yojana Trainer. Meanwhile, Prof. Bhatia while giving information in this regard to the journalists said that today, on the last day of the 12-day training camp under the Apada Mitra scheme, the volunteers were honored with identity cards and certificates.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (R) Rajeev Verma attended this camp as the chief guest and SDM Balachore Ravinder Bansal, Tehsildar Navashahr Parveen Chhibbar, Vice Chancellor Lamarine Tech Skill University Dr AS Chawla were also specially present with him. Meanwhile, certificates and I-cards were distributed to all the volunteers who took the training. In the closing ceremony of the camp, all the volunteers showcased their talent by giving a drill rehearsal to the guests, training team members and general public and demonstrated what they had learned in their 12 days.
