Electoral system in the country is 'already dead': Rahul Gandhi.

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched another major attack on the Election Commission, saying that the country's electoral system is 'already dead' and the 2024 general elections were rigged. He said that the Prime Minister is sitting on his chair with a 'bare majority' and if there was a difference of a few seats, he would not be there.

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched another major attack on the Election Commission, saying that the country's electoral system is 'already dead' and the 2024 general elections were rigged. He made the remarks while addressing the inaugural ceremony of a one-day legal conference on 'Constitutional Challenges'. He said that the Prime Minister is sitting on his chair with a 'bare majority' and if there was a difference of a few seats, he would not be there.
He cited data collected by the Congress from an assembly constituency in Karnataka, where the party checked the photographs and names of voters and allegedly found that 1.5 lakh votes out of a total of 6.5 lakh voters were 'fake'.
He further said, "When we release this figure, you will see another setback in the electoral system. It is like an 'atomic bomb'. The truth is that the electoral system in India is already dead. Please remember one thing that the Prime Minister of India has a very small majority. If there were rigging in 10-15 seats and we suspect that the real figures would have been closer to 70-80 than 100, he would not have been the Prime Minister of the country."
Speaking about the Election Commission, Rahul Gandhi said, "It is very clear that the institution that protects this (Constitution) has been wiped out and taken over. I did not have evidence earlier and that is why I could not make such statements earlier but I am making these statements with confidence now because I have 100 percent evidence."
