
Drug De-addiction Day celebrated in Government College
Hoshiarpur- As per the instructions of the Youth Services Department, Drug De-addiction Day was celebrated in Government College Hoshiarpur under the leadership of College Principal Anita Sagar and Assistant Director Youth Services Hoshiarpur Ravi Pal with the support of Red Ribbon Club of the college and NSS Incharge Prof. Vijay Kumar. In which seminars, poster making, speeches, articles, rallies and oath taking programs were organized.

Red Ribbon Club and NSS Program Officer Vijay Kumar, while making the students aware about drug abuse, highlighted the changes coming in the types of drugs and said that nowadays such drugs have come about which the family members of the drug addict do not know anything. Such drug addicts are harming themselves by deceiving their loved ones. Nowadays not only drugs but also in everyday food items, drugs are used which also cause death. We have to protect ourselves not only from drugs but also from such things.
He explained in detail about the evils of drug abuse. In the speech competition organized on this occasion, Khushboo got first place, Harman Sidhu got second place, Adarsh ??Kumar got third place. In poster making, Arsh got first place, Sahil got second place and Khushboo got third place. In writing competition, Khushboo got first place, Sahil got second place and Arsh got third place.
To create awareness about drug abuse, a rally was taken out in the college and students were administered a pledge not to consume drugs. Prof. Vijay Kumar, Assistant Professor Dr. Aruna Rani, Dr. Paramjeet Kaur, Mr. Suraj Kumar, Miss Shachi, Dr. Neeti Sharma, Dr. Tajinder Kaur, Mr. Nirmal Singh and about 100 students were present. Refreshments were also served to the students on this occasion.
