Ghasokhana Sewerage Pipeline Case; Villagers Honor Farmers Released from Jails

Maur Mandi (Paigam-E-Jagat)- The sewerage pipeline of Maur Mandi, which is being laid up to the Lasara Drain of Kotfatta, was being laid through the middle of Ghasokhana village, due to which the villagers opposed this pipeline, due to which, apart from the village panchayat, more than 150 farmers and villagers of the Kisan Union Sidhupur were imprisoned in the jails of Sri Muktsar Sahib, Bathinda, Ludhiana and Amritsar.

Meanwhile, about 13 farmers including the district president of the union, Baldev Singh Sandoha, started a hunger strike and fast unto death in the Muktsar jail, after which an agreement was reached between the Bathinda administration and the leaders of the union that the sewerage pipeline would be laid outside the village, due to which the work of laying the pipeline was stopped and the farmers imprisoned in various jails were released without any conditions.
After the release of the farmers and the halt in the pipeline work, the villagers recited a prayer of thanks and prayed, and the farmer leaders Kaka Singh Kotra, Baldev Singh Sandoha, Resham Singh Yatri, Balwinder Singh Jodhpur, who were released from jails, as well as leaders and workers from various blocks of Punjab, as well as the villagers who went to jail, were also honored.
Speaking on the occasion, Kaka Singh Kotra said that it is necessary to stop the tyranny of the governments. Baldev Singh Sandoha said that we should also be ready for the next action of the government. After this, the villagers also took out a victory march in the village, taking all the farmers who were released from jail.
Apart from the village Sarpanch Harjas Singh, Gurditta Singh Maisarkhana, Makhan Singh Ghasokhana, Harpreet Singh Burj, Badal Singh Kotli Khurd, Nirmal Singh, Iqbal Singh Maisarkhana, Gurdeep Singh Maisarkhana etc. were present along with office bearers of various blocks of the district.
