Bengaluru, March 14- A special court for economic offences has rejected the bail plea of ??Kannada actress Harshavardhani Rania alias Rania Rao, accused in a gold smuggling case. Along with this, the court has sent another accused in the same case, Tarun Raju, on 15-day judicial remand.
Rania, who is the stepdaughter of a DGP-rank officer, is currently lodged in the Parappana Agrahara jail here. The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence had recovered gold worth Rs 12.56 crore from the actress at the Kempegowda International Airport on March 3. Following this, gold ornaments worth Rs 2.06 crore and Indian currency worth Rs 2.67 crore were recovered in raids conducted by the DRI at the actress's residence.
