
Municipal Corporation seals Golf Range, Sector-65, Phase-11 for non-payment of property tax

According to Municipal Corporation Commissioner Parminder Pal Singh, the Municipal Corporation is sending notices to commercial and industrial property tax defaulters.
While many property owners have not deposited the property tax despite the notice of the Municipal Corporation. Taking strict action against such property owners, the Municipal Corporation has sealed Golf Range, Sector-65, Phase-11, Mohali.
Giving more information, Municipal Corporation, Mohali Commissioner Parminder Pal Singh said that there are many such hotels, showrooms and other commercial property owners within the municipal limits, who have not deposited the property tax despite the Municipal Corporation sending notices twice. He said that the properties of such property owners will be sealed in the coming days.
He said that this year the Municipal Corporation has set a target of collecting about Rs 50 crore as property tax, out of which about Rs 42 crore has been collected so far. He has appealed to the people to deposit their outstanding property tax in the Municipal Corporation office as soon as possible. He said that if this is not done, property tax will be recovered along with interest and penalty.
Apart from this, if a person does not deposit the property tax despite receiving a notice from the Municipal Corporation, legal action will be taken against him. He said that from March 1 to March 31, the office of the property tax branch of the Municipal Corporation is being kept open every Saturday and Sunday from 9 am to 2 pm, so that people can deposit their property tax on time.
