He said that direct sowing of paddy can save groundwater. He appealed to all the farmers that the farmers who are adopting direct sowing of paddy should contact the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar blocks and get themselves registered on the portal, so that they can be given financial assistance from the government.
He informed that last year 82 farmers in the district had successfully adopted direct sowing of paddy in 803.75 acres of area and the farmers were provided an amount of Rs 1500 per acre. Through the portal, an amount of Rs 11,01,075 was provided to the farmers in their accounts at the rate of Rs 1500 per acre.
He appealed to all the farmers that more and more farmers should adopt the direct sowing technique of paddy and contact their respective block agriculture officers regarding direct sowing of paddy.
