
'Punjab Bandh' received a huge response in Patiala, markets remained completely closed
Patiala, December 30 - The call for "Punjab Bandh" given by the farmers for legal guarantee of MSP and other demands received a huge response in Patiala city and the entire district. Since morning, members of the farmers' union came in groups and kept closing open shops, markets and banks. Farmers gathered on the roads in Rajpura, Patiala and other parts of the district and blocked the roads.

Since morning, members of the farmers' union came in groups and kept closing open shops, markets and banks. Farmers gathered on the roads in Rajpura, Patiala and other parts of the district and blocked the roads.
The crowded markets of Patiala, Anardana Chowk, Dharampura Bazaar, Arya Samaj, Sheran Wala Gate and Lahori Gate, were deserted. Farmers staged protests at Shambhu Railway Station and other places on the railway tracks. After the call for Punjab Bandh by the farmers' union, while the farmers remained steadfast in the front, people supporting the farmers also joined them. Members of the Bharatiya Kisan Union staged a protest on almost all the roads of Patiala district.
The members of the Kisan Union closed the banks as well as the petrol pumps. The farmers, who were sitting on a protest on the road of Bakshiwala village near Patiala, sent back the bikers passing through the area.
