DC Holds Meeting With Transporters and Arhtiyas for smooth sailing of forthcoming Rabi Marketing Season

       The Deputy Commissioner while emphasising all the arrangements in place before the starting of procurement season said that procurement agencies also held such meetings at Mandi level to resolve the local level issues of the Commission Agents.
     She assured that the Commission Agents will be given fulsome support by the District Administration to purchase the wheat grain from Mandis. She said that gunny bags and other arrangements has already been done. She said that in case, stock of gunny bags allocated to a procurement agency is over, the same agency can get it from another agency to continue the procurement process.
       Deputy Commissioner said that the ample space in all the Mandis and requisite storage for the procured wheat will be the priority of the District Administration so that no body would have to face any problem in the Mandi.
    She added that the district has a target of expected arrival of 1.37 lakh Metric Tonnes of wheat. A total of 15 procurement centres (Five Main Yards and 10 Sub Yards ) will be set up in the district, she further added.
     Stressing the need of coordination between all the agencies and among the commission agents, the Deputy Commissioner directed all the agencies to make it sure that no local level issues hamper the procurement season. Anything thet may arise in future should be addressed well in time.
     Meeting was attended by the ADC (G) Geetika Singh and DFSC Navreet besides the representatives of the commission agents and transporters from Derabassi, Kurali, Lalru and Banur.
