
Last date of Pradhan Mantri Internship Scheme extended to 31 March 2025
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, March 12: The last date of Pradhan Mantri Internship Scheme has been extended to 31 March 2025. Under this scheme, young professionals get a great opportunity to gain a lot of meaningful experience in various industries. PM Internship Scheme was inaugurated by the Government of India on October 3, 2024. Under the PM Internship Scheme, it was announced in the Union Budget for the year 2024-25.

Under this scheme, young professionals get a great opportunity to gain a lot of meaningful experience in various industries. PM Internship Scheme was inaugurated by the Government of India on October 3, 2024. Under the PM Internship Scheme, it was announced in the Union Budget for the year 2024-25.
Appealing to the candidates in this regard, Deputy Director, Employment Generation Skill Development and Training Officer Harpreet Singh Manshahia informed that for internship under this scheme, application can be made through PM Internship Portal till 12-10-2024. This is the last chance for the youth of SAS Nagar district to get experience of working with the top 500 companies of India.
Along with this, he told that the youth should not miss this unique opportunity and take advantage of this internship scheme to improve their skills. The scheme was launched with a pilot project for the financial year 2024-25. The target is 1.25 lakh internships. Internship opportunities are spread across 24 sectors including oil, gas, energy, travel, hospitality, automotive and banking and financial services etc.
Under this scheme, youth aged 21 to 24 years can apply for a 12-month internship program. This scheme is for Indian citizens who are not working full time or not studying full time. Candidates who are doing online or distance education can apply.
The educational qualification to apply for PM Internship Scheme is 10th, 12th, ITI, Diploma, BA, BSc. Rs 5,000 will be given during this internship, in addition to this, a one-time grant of Rs 6000 will be given through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) after applying for the internship. Candidates applying under this scheme will be covered under the insurance schemes of the government (Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana).
Candidates who have done apprenticeship under National Apprenticeship Training (NATS) or applied for National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) cannot apply under PM Internship Scheme. Also, candidates whose family members are permanent or regular government employees are not eligible to apply under this PM Internship Scheme.
