Desh Bhagat Radio and SBI organized a walkathon on the occasion of International Women's Day

Mandi Gobindgarh, March 8 - In celebration of International Women's Day, Desh Bhagat Radio FM 107.8 'Aap Ki Awaaz' in association with State Bank of India (SBI) organized a walkathon to honour the achievements and strength of women. The event brought together people from all walks of life to create awareness for women's empowerment and gender equality.

Mandi Gobindgarh, March 8 - In celebration of International Women's Day, Desh Bhagat Radio FM 107.8 'Aap Ki Awaaz' in association with State Bank of India (SBI) organized a walkathon to honour the achievements and strength of women. The event brought together people from all walks of life to create awareness for women's empowerment and gender equality.
SBI DGM Kajal Kumar Bhowmik and Director Media and Performing Arts DBU Dr Surjit Kaur Patheja flagged off the walkathon. The walkathon started from SBI LHO Sector 17 and proceeded via Matka Chowk, Hotel Taj, Police Station, Sahib Singh Light Point and back to LHO. It saw the participation of hundreds of enthusiastic walkers, including SBI employees, community members and supporters of the cause.
Participants celebrated the role of women in the betterment of society, while promoting physical fitness. Speaking on the occasion, SBI DGM Kajal Kumar said that she is delighted to be a part of this empowerment initiative on this important day. She said that women have been a driving force in every aspect of life, and it is very important that we continue to recognize and support their efforts.
RJ Sangamitra, Station Head, Desh Bhagat Radio, said that the community radio station has been at the forefront of various initiatives promoting inclusion and social causes. Dr Tajinder Kaur, Pro-Chancellor, Desh Bhagat University, said that they believe in creating a platform for people to voice their views and support important causes.
She said that this walkathon not only promotes a healthy lifestyle, but also reminds us of the ongoing struggle for gender equality. The participants were awarded medals and certificates.
