Making women aware of their rights is the main objective of celebrating "International Women's Day"

Nawanshahr, March 8 - On the occasion of "International Women's Day", an awareness seminar was organized by the Health Department under the leadership of Dr. Nina Shant at District Hospital Nawanshahr under the guidance of Civil Surgeon Dr. Gurinderjit Singh and Senior Medical Officer Dr. Satwinderpal Singh. On this occasion, the staff of District Hospital Nawanshahr, patients who came for treatment and the general public were present.

Giving information on this occasion, Dr. Nina Shant said that "International Women's Day" is celebrated every year on March 8. The main objective of celebrating International Women's Day is to empower women in society and increase their participation in economic, political, social and various fields and to make them aware of their rights. She said that in today's time, women are becoming more self-reliant than ever before and are playing an important role in the overall development of society.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Group Education and Information Officer Tarsem Lal from the Mass Media Wing Civil Surgeon Office Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar said that it is very important to make women aware of health care, because along with working women, housewives also have an important contribution in the creation of society. The development of society cannot be imagined without women. Women are reaching the heights of success in every field today.
On this occasion, Dr. Monika Jain told that women are the backbone of every home, they are completely helpful in fulfilling family responsibilities. Women's health is of great importance for the family, but most women neglect their health due to negligence or ignorance, most women are affected by health problems such as calcium deficiency, anemia and bone weakness, to stay healthy, they should consume a balanced diet while being conscious about their health.
Nursing Sister Satwinder Pal Kaur said that we should raise boys and girls without any discrimination so that they can live a happy life and contribute to the development of the country. On this occasion, students of Lovepreet Kaur and Jasmine Nursing School also presented impressive poems and speeches on the topic of women empowerment and child protection.
