The congregation dedicated to Baba Jai ??Singh Ji Khalkat begins today in Baran village

Patiala, March 6 - The 273rd annual Shaheedi Samagam dedicated to the great martyr of the Sikh community Baba Jai ??Singh Ji Khalkat will be held in Baran village from March 7 to March 9. Surjit Singh, president of the managing committee of Gurdwara Shaheed Baba Jai ??Singh Ji Khalkat, said that this congregation is being organized in the courtyard of Gurdwara Shaheed Baba Jai ??Singh Ji Khalkat, in which religious diwans will be organized for three days and thousands of devotees will come to pay tribute to the martyrs.

National Scheduled Caste Alliance President Paramjit Singh Kaith and committee members Roshan Singh, Harmesh Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Gurdhyan Singh, Karam Singh, Gurjant Singh Sarpanch, Dharam Singh, Gurcharan Singh, Ram Singh, Baljinder Singh, Joginder Singh Panchhi Darshan Singh, Jinder Singh said that the great martyr Baba Jai ??Singh Ji Khalkat was skinned and martyred by Nawab Abdus Samad Khan of Sirhind in Sammat 1810 (1753 AD) for not carrying tobacco in the bag (burden).
His wife Mata Dhan Kaur and sons Bhai Karan Singh, Bhai Kharak Singh and daughter-in-law Amar Kaur were also tortured and martyred. In this event, Sant Baba Darbara Singh, Bhai Simran Jeet Singh, Bhai Preetpal Singh, Sant Baba Harbans Singh, Sant Baba Ranveer Singh, Sant Baba Dharampal Singh, Sant Baba Hardeepak Singh, Jathedar Amrik Singh will connect the Sangat with Gurbani Kirtan through Kirtan Jathas. Guru ka langar will be served in abundance.
