
RBI organised special lecture on ‘Financial Literacy’ at Khalsa College
Garhshankar- Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College Garhshankar RBI in collaboration with IQ.AC and Arts Department of the college organised a special lecture on ‘Financial Literacy’ under the leadership of Principal Dr. Amandeep Heera. During the seminar organised to educate students and staff on financial issues like budgeting, savings, digital banking, cyber frauds and Ombudsman Scheme, Sanjeev Singh AGM RBI Chandigarh delivered an awareness raising lecture.
Garhshankar- Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College Garhshankar RBI in collaboration with IQ.AC and Arts Department of the college organised a special lecture on ‘Financial Literacy’ under the leadership of Principal Dr. Amandeep Heera. During the seminar organised to educate students and staff on financial issues like budgeting, savings, digital banking, cyber frauds and Ombudsman Scheme, Sanjeev Singh AGM RBI Chandigarh delivered an awareness raising lecture.
He presented his views on financial management and digital banking, highlighted the importance of financial planning, discussed the rising risks of cyber frauds and gave detailed information about Ombudsman Scheme. He said that banking serves as a grievance redressal mechanism for customers. He made the students aware about basic life insurance costing only Rs. 20 and Rs. 436 per annum.
Principal Dr. Amandeep Heera appreciated the efforts of the management team and stressed the need for enhancing practical knowledge of the students in addition to academic knowledge. The responsibility of arranging the programme was entrusted to Prof. Ritu Singh, College Nodal Officer RBI, took over the programme, Prof. Navdeep Singh took over the responsibility of conducting the programme and Prof. Priyanka Rani took over the responsibility of the stage.
On this occasion, Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh, Dr. Janaki Aggarwal, Dr. Manbir Kaur, Prof. Harvinder Kaur, Prof. Arvinder Kaur, Prof. Naresh Kumari, Prof. Kamaljit Kaur, Prof. Kanwaljit Kaur, Prof. Saurav Dadri, Prof. Rekha, Prof. Amanpreet Kaur and students were present.
