Sarpanch, Numbardar and Councillors to verify applications online - Deputy Commissioner

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, March 6: As per the guidelines issued by the Punjab Government, Sarpanch, Numbardar and Municipal Councillors (MCs) will verify applications for various certificates online.
Giving this information, Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that the aim of launching this new initiative is to relieve people from the hassle of visiting Sarpanchs, Numbardars and MCs repeatedly to get their signatures.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the most demanded services like Residential Certificate, Caste (SC, BC/OBC) Certificate, Income Certificate, EWS Certificate, Old Age Pension and Dogra Certificate will be verified by the concerned Sarpanch, Numbardar and MC. will be sent online.
These services require verification from Sarpanches and Numbardars in rural areas and from MCs in urban areas. With the launch of this project, Patwaris will now send online applications to Sarpanches, Numbardars or MCs for verification.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the launch of this online project will reduce the burden on citizens who had to repeatedly visit Sarpanches, Numbardars or MCs to get their signatures under the earlier cumbersome process.
