Garhshankar, March 4 - Various organizations including Democratic Teachers Front Punjab, Democratic Pensioner Front, Gramin Mazdoor Union have strongly condemned the arrest of the leaders of the United Kisan Morcha by the AAP government of Punjab and the raids on the houses of leaders on a large scale from Punjab level to block level and have termed this attitude of the Bhagwant Mann government as a violation of the democratic right to protest and a dictatorial attitude.
State Joint Secretary of various organizations DTF Mukesh Kumar, Sukhdev Dansiwal, Democratic Pensioner Front leader Hansraj Gar Shankar, Balbir Khanpuri, Rural Employees Union leader Bagicha Singh Sahungra and Paramjit Singh said that before coming to power, the leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party, a party that emerged from the protests, used to protest at various places in Punjab and the country in the last farmer struggle and called the demands of the farmers legitimate and reasonable, but after coming to power, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of the AAP party has threatened the farmers by meeting with the farmers and has completely rejected the demands of the farmers.
The leaders have made wrong remarks against the struggle and silenced them by not allowing them to protest in Chandigarh and adopted an attitude equal to that of the Central Government and the repression cycle being run by the State Government has exposed the anti-farmer face of the Bhagwant Mann Government. The leaders demanded the Punjab Government to immediately release the arrested farmer leaders and consider the important demands of the farmers which fall under the jurisdiction of the State Government.
The leaders warned that if the Government does not stop the repression cycle and release the arrested leaders soon, then the Government will have to face the anger of the people of Punjab.
