
Training on pneumonia given at PHC Boothgarh
Kharar/S.A.S. Nagar, 28 February 2025: A one-day training on “Social Awareness and Action to Neutralize Pneumonia Successfully (SANS)” was organized at Primary Health Center Boothgarh, in which community health officers and ANMs participated.

District Immunization Officer Dr. Girish Dogra and Dr. Amarpreet Kaur, while addressing the participants present in the training, said that 'SANS' training will help protect children from pneumonia. Awareness campaign has been run under the SANS program from 16 November to 28 February.
By adopting this program, the mortality rate of children up to five years of age in the district can be reduced. He said that 15 percent of children under five years of age in the country die due to pneumonia. Child mortality can be reduced by timely identification and treatment of pneumonia. He said that apart from providing breast milk to children and giving them complete nutritious diet, child mortality rate can be reduced by giving them Vitamin A solution and paying attention to vaccination. Senior Medical Officer Dr. Alkajot Kaur, District Mass Media Officer Harcharan Singh Brar and other staff were present on this occasion.
